My name is Erica, nice to know ya. I'm currently all of sixteen years old with dreams that drive me crazy. Let me tell ya, folks, I've had certain dreams since I was eight years old, and as I've grown, I've expanded these dreams to a stress-developing level. Let me tell you a little about myself:
I am an aspiring writer/photographer/artist/musician. I speak English, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, German, and Swahili all mainly well and am fluent in the first four mentioned. I always try to contribute to such groups as WWF, Free The Children, GreenPeace, and all those other amazing corporations you can think of. I care about our beautiful planet Earth more than you can possibly imagine and am always one with Mother Nature.
I was born in Ontario, Canada where my parents kept me and my older sister for roughly seven years. We then moved West where I have lived eleven more years. I've not been back to Ontario, but have gone to a couple places in Alberta. Otherwise, no Canadian travel for me.
My parents are Hispanic and were born in El Salvador, which is a little tiny place in Central America. From what I remember, I've visited three times in the past five years. And from what I'm told, I was there once when I was younger. The only other place I've been was in Mexico, where I spent all of a day and a half. I'm starting to wonder if that even counts. As of August 2010, my mother has been looking for flights to go back to El Salvador, Mexico, or expand elsewhere such as Cuba or Dominican Republic for the winter.
Let's be honest here, folks, I love my Latin background, I enjoy every second of speaking, eating, dancing, writing, reading, learning, etc, etc, in Spanish, but this gal's got needs. And these needs are seeking desperate change in travel!
For the past two months, I've become so intrigued with the African culture and everything there is to it. I know there's a million people with the same dream, but does it really happen for them? Are they able to see the Victoria Falls or learn the indigenous' people's cultures or see the beautiful wildlife that reside on such an amazing country? And if so, can I PLEASE be one of them?
From the above statement, you can probably conclude that a trip to Africa is what I'm longing for more. And realistically, what this whole blog will be about. It's about 6:30 AM at the moment, and I should be heading off. If you've not been to bed yet, good morning. If you're just waking up, good morning. To all those who read this longer-than-I-thought-to-be blog, thank you, and good morning.
Have a great day, I'll be back sooner than you think.
